2021年に行われたAtelier maticの個展。はじめてサイドテーブルなどの大きめの作品を制作。

これまで制作してきた、アクリルや大理石の作品。MINEOREと呼ばれる一輪挿しに加えて、鉱物や珪化木(けいかぼく)を閉じ込めて断面を切り出した作品を新たに制作。展示会のタイトルにあるように、自然のものを使用しながらも人工的に表情を作り出すAtelier maticの作品群。その素材感を存分に表現した展示となった。

In addition to the acrylic and marble works he has produced in the past, including a single-flower vase called “mineore,” Atelier matic has created a new series of works in which minerals and silicified wood are trapped and cut out in cross sections. As the title of the exhibition suggests, Atelier matic’s works use natural materials to create artificial expressions. The exhibition fully expressed the sense of these materials.

MINE OREと名付けた一輪挿しは、これまでも様々な表現でマーブル模様を試してきた集大成の作品。水溶性樹脂にて一点一点形作られ、その模様を見ながら切り出して最終的な形状を決めていく。

The single-flower vase named “MINE ORE” is the culmination of his experimentation with marble patterns in various expressions. Each piece is individually formed with water-soluble resin, and the final shape is decided by cutting out the pieces while looking at the pattern.

鉱物や植物、製作時に出た破片、その形が美しいと思うものを集めており、それらをアクリルの中に閉じ込めた作品。ただ並べるのではなく、トロフィーをイメージして積み上げ、アクリルの中での造形的な美しさを構築した。

He collects minerals, plants, fragments from the production process, and objects that he thinks are beautiful in their form, and traps them in acrylic. Instead of simply arranging them, he piled them up in the image of trophies, constructing a figurative beauty in acrylic.
